PRIVACY POLICY

This privacy policy sets out how I (Sharon Booth) use and protect any information that you give me when you use this website and/or sign up to my newsletter.

What personal data I collect and why I collect it

Newsletters and Giveaways:

If you’ve joined my email newsletter then you’ve provided me with your email address. In this case I only use your personal data to provide the newsletter and it is not used for any other purpose. I use Mailerlite to send out my email newsletter and will therefore share your email address with them. Mailerlite has its own privacy statement which can be read at  https://www.mailerlite.com/legal/privacy-policy

If you enter a giveaway via my newsletter and/or blog where you were required to email me, your email information is used solely for that purpose and deleted afterwards. If you win, you will be asked for your physical address so that I can send your prize to you. The address will ONLY be used to send your prize and I will not keep your address on record.

Your privacy is important to me and your information is stored securely and will only be used for this purpose. The information is not passed on to any third party and you may unsubscribe at any time.

If you sign up to my newsletter and download the free novella, it is distributed by BookFunnel and so you may be required to enter your email address. They do not store your information for any other purpose than to distribute my free books. For the BookFunnel privacy statement, please refer to their website.

Comments and Contact:

When visitors leave comments on this site the data shown in the comments form is collected, and also the visitor’s IP address and browser uses agent string to help spam detection.

An anonymized string created from your email address (also called a hash) may be provided to the Gravatar service to see if you are using it. The Gravatar service privacy policy is available here: https://automattic.com/privacy/. After approval of your comment, your profile picture is visible to the public in the context of your comment.

If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so any follow-up comments can be recognised and approved automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue.

If you contact me using the Contact form on this website, I will only respond to your query. Your details will not be used or stored for any other purpose.

Cookies:

If you leave a comment on my website you may opt-in to saving your name, email address and website in cookies. These are for your convenience so that you do not have to fill in your details again when you leave another comment. These cookies will last for one year. Visitor comments may be checked through an automated spam detection service.

Embedded content from other websites

Articles on this site may include embedded content (e.g. videos, images, articles, etc.). Embedded content from other websites behaves in the exact same way as if the visitor has visited the other website.

These websites may collect data about you, use cookies, embed additional third-party tracking, and monitor your interaction with that embedded content, including tracking your interaction with the embedded content if you have an account and are logged in to that website.

This website may contain links to other websites. Please be aware that once you have used these links to leave my site, I don’t have any control over that other website. I cannot be responsible for the privacy and protection of any information you provide whilst visiting other sites and they aren’t governed by this privacy policy.

By using this site and/or by subscribing to my newsletter, you signify your acceptance of this policy and terms of service. Your continued use of the Site following the posting of changes to this policy will be deemed your acceptance of those changes. I may change this policy occasionally by updating this page. You should check this page from time to time to make sure that you’re happy with any changes.

This policy came into effect on 3rd October 2019.
