Sharing her Five Photos with me today is writer Tanith Davenport, author of a multitude of erotica novels, horror movie fan, lover of rock concerts, and owner of two delinquent cats.  I love getting  a sneak peek into my guests’ lives through their photographs, and today has been no exception. These pictures paint a picture of a very interesting character indeed, and I absolutely love that wedding outfit!

 My wedding photo

This is my favourite wedding photo, primarily because the camera hates me but it actually came out very well! My husband and I have been together for eighteen years and met in the traditional studenty way – in the student union bar at Leeds Beckett University. It was a standing joke at our wedding that, since I’d gone for a gown from a studio that did mostly pagan weddings, Mark’s suit cost more than my dress.

An owl experience

This was a birthday present from my mother. My husband is a keen wildlife photographer and I’ve always loved birds in general, so a visit to a bird sanctuary to meet the owls was a perfect gift. These two barn owls were very fond of diving for food and very much enjoyed having their heads stroked.

New York City

I insisted on having this shot taken when we went to New York City the first time, as I love stage musicals and kept singing “Give my regards to Broadway, remember me to Herald Square!” New York is an amazing place, but my favourite part was definitely Times Square. I could have stood there watching the screens all day.

Scarborough fireworks

Scarborough is one of my favourite places to visit – we’ve stayed there several times, including for our anniversary just after the wedding of Prince William and Kate Middleton. This photo was taken during the Scarborough Light Parade, where motorbikes parade down the streets followed by a firework display.

Cala D’Or

 

My friends Nici and Oscar own a bar in Cala D’Or, Majorca, and their main draw (apart from enormous cocktails) is two parrots called Tutti and Frutti. This was the first time I got one of them to pose on my shoulder, although he did try to eat my hair. We visit Cala D’Or every year, it being – among other things – the place where my husband proposed, and we always make sure to visit the bar to see our friends and the parrots.

Tanith Davenport began writing erotica at the age of 27 by way of the Romantic Novelists’ Association New Writers’ Scheme. Her debut novel “The Hand He Dealt” was released by Total-e-Bound in June 2011 and was shortlisted for the Joan Hessayon Award for 2012.

Tanith has had short stories published by Naughty Nights Press and House of Erotica. She loves to travel and dreams of one day taking a driving tour of the United States, preferably in a classic 1950s pink Cadillac Eldorado.
