It’s Publication Day for Hope Blooms in Tuppenny Bridge!
Today is a bittersweet day for me. It’s publication day for Hope Blooms in Tuppenny Bridge, and while I’m delighted to see my book baby out in the world, it also means that my adventures in the beautiful little Yorkshire Dales market town are over. This, you see, is the fifth and final book in the Tuppenny Bridge series.
Authors have to get used to saying goodbye to characters and settings, but sometimes it’s more of a wrench than others. By the time some series are completed you’re more than ready to move on to pastures new, but I’ll admit I feel sadness at saying farewell to this gorgeous location and the characters I found there: from the indomitable Lavender Ladies to feisty Bluebell and no-nonsense Dolly, as well as my heroes and heroines: Ben and Summer, Kat and Jonah, Ross and Clemmie, Clive and Bethany, and Noah and Daisy.
But while today is sad for me in that it marks the end of the end of the series, it’s also happy because finally readers can get to peek behind the scenes at Peony Cottage and find out what’s going on with Noah and Isobel!
These two were teenage sweethearts. Part of the group of five friends that centred around Leon Callaghan. They’ve stuck together through school, university, bereavement, and building individual careers which led to Isobel running her own florist’s shop, Petalicious, and Noah becoming the headmaster of the primary school in Tuppenny Bridge. They seem to have a perfect life…
Daisy Jackson, meanwhile, has put her past behind her and is concentrating on making a success of The Crafty Cook Café. After making a fool of herself with the best friend of her brother, she’s focusing on her career in future. Romance is not part of her plan…
Here’s the blurb:
The aroma of freshly baked chocolate and caramel cake wafts through the cobbled streets of Tuppenny Bridge, carrying with it the promise of new beginnings for café owner Daisy Jackson…
After years of putting others first, Daisy has found a place to call her own in the charming market town of Tuppenny Bridge. The Crafty Cook Café, her pride and joy, is a testament to her determination. But beneath her cheerful demeanour and flour-dusted apron, Daisy still carries the weight of her past.
As summer unfolds in the Yorkshire Dales, Daisy takes long hikes through wildflower meadows, gradually learning to leave her troubles behind with each step. When Daisy meets Noah Lavender, the kind-hearted local headmaster, they forge a connection that helps her more than any amount of cake therapy ever could. But it seems he's not quite the uncomplicated Prince Charming she might have wished for – Noah carries a secret of his own…
Then, Daisy bumps into a figure from her past who forces her to confront long-buried memories. With autumn approaching, it feels time to take a leap of faith. But will the echoes of yesterday remind her that this new life is too precious to risk?
A touching tale of self-discovery and sweet beginnings, sprinkled with Yorkshire charm and a dash of romance. Grab a slice of cake and lose yourself in the Dales, where dreams are baked fresh daily and love might just be the secret ingredient.
